I have clients and friends who ask me about nutrition often! After all, I preach that Diet and Exercise need to be symbiotic!

I have to first qualify this blog by saying that I am not a nutritionist. The only training I have had in nutrition has come from my own experiences and the nutritional company I selected for my personal lifestyle change.

Nutrition plans for life need to be much like selecting a partner for life. Here is a copy of a wedding vow, think of this and fill in the blanks with your name and the name of your nutritional plan (give it a nickname if you like):

I, (name), take you, (name), to be my [opt: lawfully wedded] (husband/wife), my constant friend, my faithful partner and my love from this day forward. In the presence of God, our family and friends, I offer you my solemn vow to be your faithful partner in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, and in joy as well as in sorrow. I promise to love you unconditionally, to support you in your goals, to honor and respect you, to laugh with you and cry with you, and to cherish you for as long as we both shall live.

This is exactly what needs to be done with a lifestyle diet! You need to own into it, love it and respect it!

Now having said that, choose your plan very carefully! There are lots of “suspect” diets and nutritional plans out there. Select one that is healthy, makes sense and you feel could be sustainable throughout the rest of your life! Ask your doctor.

Using the marriage analogy, if you are in this to loose weight, the current relationship you have with food is destructive! You need a Divorce! After your big “D” select a new partner that will nurture your body, mind and sprint well into the future!

I researched many and had a very close friend go through this one and recommend it to me because it’s healthy and sustainable!! I chose and continue to love SlimGenics! In a way it was like going to food college. I learned so much about nutrition through Slim SlimGenics I am a life-long member and will continue to maintain my relationship with the nutritional plan they helped me construct!

Be diligent in your research and choose healthy! Remember, “We only get ONE body in this lifetime, so treat it right, feed it well and most of all … USE IT”.
